The donations to the Mount Nittany Health COVID-19 Response Fund have supported continued testing for COVID-19 at the health system. Diagnostic testing allows us to identify which patients have COVID-19, and thus need some level of treatment and isolation, as well as track the spread of the virus within our community. “We are immediately putting this fund to use to care for and protect our patients, staff, and community,” states Simon Corby, executive director, Mount Nittany Health Foundation.

Our community has shown incredible support for the Mount Nittany Health Foundation over many years. As the global COVID-19 pandemic began to impact our region, we created this special fund to support our fight against the disease.

“Testing allows providers to consider specific therapies for COVID-19 and ensure our patients are receiving the right care,” adds Gregory Ruff, M.D., Mount Nittany Physician Group Pulmonary Medicine, Sleep Medicine and the critical care department at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

The generosity of our community has been a bright light in these difficult times and is allowing us the means to quickly respond to the needs of our most vulnerable patients with COVID-19 symptoms. We are so grateful to our community for their continued support and donations.
